This month, Paulino and Connor ventured into the field with Anthony Kiszewski of Bentley University, MCZ Associate, to conduct initial field work seeking Wyeomyia smithii.

This field work is part of ongoing research by the team, which is conducting studies in various locations across the United States to investigate the taxonomy, ecology, and bionomics of the species. This field expedition is part of the project titled "Taxonomy in Focus to Review Wyeomyia smithii Coquillet (Diptera, Culicidae) in the United States." One of the objectives was to introduce Harvard University undergraduate student Connor Coffman to the methods of collecting immature forms of Wyeomyia smithii.
