> Why, in so many lineages of tiny consumers, whether parasites, pathogens or herbivorous beetles, do ecological associations with particular lineages of hosts often remain stable for tens or even hundreds of millions of years?

 Brian addressed this topic in his presentation, *"Genomic architecture and evolutionary rates in beetles and some other tiny consumers,"* at the International Congress of Entomology 2024, Kyoto.

 Brian's talk was part of the symposium *"The many facets of inordinate fondness: new insights into phytophagous beetle radiations,"* organized by [Bruno A. S. de Medeiros](https://in-flo-lab.group/)\*,[Sangil Kim](/people/sang-il-kim)\*, and M. Lourdes Chamorro. \*Farrell Lab alumni
